OSI Group Goes International with a series of acquisition in Europe and Asia

In 2016, the company’s facility in Aurora purchased Flagship Europe from the previous owners Flagship Food Group, Denver. The acquired facility distributes frozen poultry, products from sous vide as well as sauces, dressings, and mayonnaise to the food market in the United Kingdom. Flagship Europe extends its services ground after it bought Calder Foods in the UK which supplied sandwich fillings, dips, sauces, marinades, and mayonnaise.

The CEO of Flagship Europe, Rusell Maddock described the acquisition as an opportunity to grow and access to new customers with a potential of going international as well. The company will strengthen its position in the market and develop new opportunities to serve the clients well. David McDonald, the COO of OSI stated that the move to add Flagship to OSI is a good way of increasing the company presence in Europe because Flagship’s products complement the processing strengths of OSI Group.

Additionally, in 2016, OSI Group acquired a controlling stake of the private Dutch company Baho Food that produces meat products and other foodstuffs for the retail market and other food services. Baho Food operates five subsidiary companies in the Netherlands and Germany. The COO of OSI Group, David McDonald also described the move as the best grounds to get deeper into the European market through OSI Europe. He further described Bahos Food’s portfolio as a compliment to OSI Europe’s present processing abilities that will help them provide services that meet the customers evolving needs.
