Roseann Bennett Sees Dogs Helping Her Patients
There are some good reasons why dogs are considered man’s best friend and studies have shown that there are benefits to owning a dog such as better mental health. They have been able to improve the lives of humans and many ways and recently they started implementing them into mental health care. One of the therapists using this type of treatment is Roseann Bennett who has already seen a lot of progress with her patients by using this new type of therapy.
There are a lot of reasons why Roseann Bennett decided to start using Canine Assisted Therapy in her practice. She has been in the industry for more than a decade and is currently licensed in family and marriage therapy out of New Jersey.
In addition to her duties at her practice in New Jersey, she is also the New Jersey Association of Marriage and Family Therapy’s Northern Chapter’s President. Bennett co-founded the Center for Assessment and Treatment in 2010. It has helped thousands of patients and they hope to be able to help many more by offering canine therapy.
The Center for Assessment and Treatment does not receive any government funding for the services that they offer their clients, but they still manage to help the patients that need it. Bennett wants to break the stigma that goes along with mental illness, Roseann Bennett and the rest of the team at the center are able to help their neighbors in New Jersey. If a patient does not have the money to pay for their services, the center does not turn them away.
Roseann Bennett first considered using canine therapy when she was doing work with children. Dogs never judge anyone and children feel very comfortable around them because of this. Sometimes, having a dog in the room to assist with therapy can help a child open up about their experiences. See This Page for additional information.
