Sheldon Lavin has Rebranded OSI Group for the Better

There are millions of tons of food that is processed and shipped all over the world so that people can fill their stomachs with whatever their heart desires. The food is a trillion dollar business when accounting for all the food that is shipped and sold around the world and there are thousands of small business and corporations in the food supply business. OSI Group is one of the leading food supply companies in the entire world today and it is currently led by Sheldon Lavin. OSI was started more than a century ago in 1909, long before Sheldon was born and at that time it was known as Otto & Sons. When Sheldon was invited to the team, he knew it would be a lifelong engagement because he saw the potential in the company from the get-go.

BEfore Sheldon Lavin was working as the head of OSI Group, he was managing his own company for more than 15 years, Sheldon Lavin & Associates. Sheldon’s company was located in Chicago, so the commute to OSI Group was very short and even though his position was temporary, he wanted to continue helping the corporation. Sheldon’s reputation preceded him and his financial assistance helped the company expand into new locations faster than they ever anticipated. This accomplishment inspired Otto & Sons owners to not only invite Sheldon to the team permanently, but they offered him an executive position.

In the 1970’s, Sheldon was officially a member of the OSI Group team and he bought a large interest in the company as well. Although OSI Group was at its biggest and most successful, the original owner and his sons were at the end of their line and decided to go into retirement, leaving Sheldon Lavin responsible for the daily operations of the company as CEO. Over the course of 30 years, Sheldon improved virtually every part of the company from expansion, annual revenue, production, facility size, and environmental safety.
